So its been an ongoing issue with my neighbor's house about Sterlings nesting in their dryer vents. Supposedly these new vents would fix the issue, but as you can see, it does not do a thing...

"Chicken wire" or smaller wire cut to dimension and placed between vent and duct will fix this problem for less than $1.00
Believe it or not, they can tear a big hole in the chicken where they get through. We tried a chicken wire cage around the same type vent in your picture. Within a week it had a large hole in - large enough for a starling to get through. We're still looking for a solution.
