Mike, ribbit ribbit, when you going to come stateside...

There is a long story behind (no pun) this lawn mower. Eric bought this early 2000 for the Shag. He only used the mower once before he moved on to Knoxville. Benny kindly brought over the Lawn Mower to my new house early 2001 where it was USED ONLY ONCE. It has sat in my garage until now, 2006. Eric finally reunites with his beloved Lawn Mower.

Did you Know? A harvest moon's appearance is 10 percent larger than on normal 'nights".

Picture taken from Hurricane Ridge @ Olympic National Park. Notice the eyebrows atop the Brown Tail Deer's eyes. That's what Mike L. has to look forward to..

Finally over the Jetlag and have gotten around to processing some of my Fisheye shots. Here is Mike and Benny checking out the view towards Moscow State University. You can see the untouched Fisheye here.

It's been a blast in Moscow, however it's good to be heading back where I will not be getting harassed for taking photos. Tourism has greatly dwindled in Moscow of recent. Why? I would say a lot of it has to do with tourists getting harassed/extorted for rubles by the police (militzia) b/c they are carrying a camera. A camera that a policeman feels is inappropriate in their eyes.
For Example, Tripod/Monopod in Red Square, be prepared to pay. Carrying a SLR type camera, be expecting to be harassed all the time b/c the police will think you are a professional photographer...and that means you have money they can , umm, take. The experience definitely left the impression with me that Moscow isn't a very tourist friendly place if you have a SLR camera.

Well, I found out the hard way that you can't use tripods or monopods at Red Square in Moscow. After a few minutes of 'international' discussion, was able to pay fine and move along. This was the only shot I got off on my tripod as they were walking up to me...no adjustments, just clicking the button..

Travelled to Moscow University today. Took a pano (180 degree panoramic) of the view of Moscow from the University. You can view the larger version of this here.
Well if you look closely, it's some kid sliding down a monument...From a distance, the monument (Space Museum)looks great, but up close it has graffiti all over it....sad..
